Bayern Munich and German football great Gerd Muller holds the record with 40 goals in a season. Poland national team skipper Robert Lewandowski is on 36 goals ahead of the final three games. To this effect, he needs five goals from those three matches to set the record starting with the Borussia Moenchengladbach game this weekend.

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he won’t be in the Bayern Munich squad for the crucial Champions League match with French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.

PSG host Bayern in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal clash and the French champions would have been boosted by the new development that Poland national team talisman Lewandowski won’t be available due to the knee injury that made him miss the first leg on Wednesday night.
