January 22nd, 2022 — 10:51am

It’s not surprising that Poland international Robert Lewandowski is the leading goalscorer in the German Bundesliga this season especially after he achieved a great feat in the competition last season. The Bayern Munich striker made the headlines after he scored 41 goals in the German Bundesliga last season to break the record of German football legend, late Gerd Muller. Muller scored 40 goals in a single German Bundesliga season twice during his career and Poland striker Lewandowski was able to break his record which stood for over five decades.

EURO 2020: POLAND TARGET KNOCKOUT STAGE

July 4th, 2021 — 6:47am

Sweden are in a fantastic position to seal a place in the round of 16 but the Polish team has a lot of work to do to get to that stage. A point for Sweden against Poland would be enough to seal one of the top two spots that would guarantee knockout stage qualification from Group E. Also, at least a one-goal defeat for Sweden against Poland would be enough to take them through as one of the best losers if they don’t finish in the top two spots in their group.

Bayern Munich forward Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting has said that Robert Lewandowski is currently ahead of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as he has the killer instinct in front of goal. The Poland international was in stupendous form for the Bavarian giants with 55 goals from just 47 appearances and that eventually contributed to the club winning the Champions League after a seven-year wait.

The Pole would have been the odds-on favourite to win the Ballon d’Or this year, but that won’t happen after France Football cancelled the annual event citing unsuitable conditions due to the coronavirus. Still, he has earned recognition by being named the UEFA Footballer of the Year and he has been tipped to bag FIFA’s Best Player award as well. Continue reading »
