New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson is aware that reaching the World Cup 2018 will be a very difficult proposition for the oceanic team. This task will just be made harder with a tough qualification group.
New Zealand were one of the surprise packages of the 2010 edition in South Africa. However, they have since been unable to achieve this magnificent run. Hudson came into the role almost a year ago and during this period results have been highly inconsistent. As a result, fans are not placing much hope on New Zealand reaching the finals in Russia.
The fact that they may have to go through a qualification group that involves opponents from the likes of Santiago, Montevideo or Quito only makes it difficult. However, Hudson is aware of the difficulty involved in qualifying for the World Cup. New Zealand do not have much matches between every qualification game and it makes things that little bit harder for the manager. He has identified the time spent with the squad as one of the key aspects in improving the overall quality of the team.
