Poland international Piotr Zielinski has stressed that he has never talked to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and has nothing to say in regards to the Premier League outfit. The attacker has been linked with the Merseyside giants over the past few seasons but the Pole seems content plying his trade for Napoli in the Serie A.

Speaking to Sportowefakty, Zielinski indicated that he has no plans of parting ways with Napoli in the near future despite the speculated interest from the Reds. He added that his representatives are already in discussions over a new contract with the Naples outfit and his ambition remains to win some silverware with the Italian heavyweights.

He said: “I’ve never talked to Klopp. There’s nothing to say about Liverpool or anyone else. I’m happy at Napoli. I’m working with a coach who I’ve learned a lot from. I want to play my best football for the rest of the season and then we’ll see what happens. My representatives are discussing my renewal with Napoli and I’m only focused on playing football. There was a time when I often thought about my future, and that was reflected in my mental state and performances. Now I leave these things to my agent. I’m happy at Napoli, I have two more years left on my contact and I want to win something with this club.”

Zielinski currently has more than two years remaining on his current deal with Napoli but there are suggestions that the contract could be extended for another three seasons with the assurance of a wage hike. Meanwhile, Zielinski’s comments could prove a potential transfer blow for the Reds, who are understood to have monitored the progress of the former Udinese man.

Liverpool have been yearning for another creative force from the attacking midfield position since the departure of Philippe Coutinho last year and it will be interesting whom the club consider to fill the void when the transfer window reopens during the summer. Xherdan Shaqiri appeared the perfect fix after his move from Stoke City but he has barely featured under Klopp during the second half of the season.
