Lewandowski Plans To Beat Future Team Bayern

Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski has stated that his story with Borussia Dortmund is not finished yet since he plans to help his current team beat his future team, Bayern Munich, in the final of the DFB-Pokal Cup. Dortmund and Bayern Munich have been the most successful German teams in the last five years. They will be once again meeting to whether for an epic clash in the final of this competition. Dortmund only recently managed to thrash Munich in the league match. It was largely due to the presence of Lewandowski, who is set to join Bayern in the summer.

Even though the deal was announced several months ago, the 25-year-old has been playing with a lot of commitment just as he announced. The striker signed a five-year contract after letting his contract with Dortmund run down. However, unlike Mario Gotze who left Dortmund in similar circumstances last summer, Lewandowski has not been faced with criticism from the fans. This is because he was a large part in the club reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League and almost knocking the current finalists Real Madrid.

Further, he has also been able to create a renaissance within the club during the second half of the season. Hence, they are set finished as runners-up to Bayern in the league table a albeit by 20 points.

“I’ve learned a lot here in Dortmund and I know that I’m a better player now than I was four years ago. But there’s still a lot of football to be played. It was my last game in Dortmund but we still have two more matches to play in Berlin [against Hertha on the final weekend of the league season, and then Bayern in the German Cup final]. These have been four fantastic years for me at BVB and they’re not over yet. I’ve scored a lot of goals and experienced so many great moments here,a? said Lewandowski.
