Poland international Robert Lewandowski has won his first European Golden Shoe ahead of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo after his record-breaking season in the German Bundesliga.

Muller went on to match the tally he has set few seasons later.

Poland national team skipper Lewandowski finished as the topscorer in the Bundesliga last season but was beaten to the European Golden Shoe by Lazio striker Ciro Immobile who scored 36 goals for his club in the Italian Serie A.
